Membership Requirements
Peoples Club of Nigerian International Calgary branch is open to all people from works of life. There is no discrimination as to gender, religion, ethnicity or other qualifications. However, each intending member must meet the following requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age and above
- Must have a visible means of livelihood
- Should be resident in Calgary or its environs (since Calgary is the only branch in Western Canada, membership is open to anybody outside the catchment area of Toronto branch)
- Must be of impeccable character
- Must not have been convicted of any criminal offence, especially fraud or dishonesty
- Both husband and wife cannot be members at the same time
- Will pay the applicable non-refundable application fee and go through an interview and screening by the membership committee.
- If the membership committee finds the person worthy to be a member, will recommend the applicant to the house for consideration after the payment of the quarterly due in the quarter in which he or she is presented for membership and provision of other accompanying items as may be required by the bylaw.
Induction Ceremony
Any applicant who has been accepted by the house for membership shall go through an induction ceremony at the next induction to be conducted by the house or at another branch with the permission of the branch. Induction shall be preceded by the pay of the required induction fee and other relevant fees as at when required by the branch. No member shall be inducted without the payment of the induction fee and all associated fees. It is after the induction that the applicant becomes a member of Peoples Club of Nigeria International.
Registration of a New Member
On admission as a member of the club, the new member shall be registered by the branch with the National Secretariat on payment of prescribed fee. This registration enables the member to be eligible to receive social security and death benefits.
